Prayer for the New Year

Dear God,

Thank you that you make all things new. Thank you for all that you’ve allowed into our lives this past year, the good and the hard things that have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every day.

We pray for your Spirit to lead us each step of this New Year. We ask that you will guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire you above all else.

We ask for your wisdom, strength, and power to be constantly present within us. We pray you would make us strong and courageous for the road ahead.
We pray for your protection over our families and friends. We ask for your hand to cover us and keep us distanced from the enemy’s evil intent; that you would be a barrier to surround us, that we’d be safe in your hands. We pray that you would give us discernment and insight beyond our years, to understand your will, hear your voice, and know your ways.

Prayer for the New Year

Dear Lord,

whether I leave behind a year of joy or of sorrow and disappointments.

I pause to give thanks. Thank You for being with me everyday of every year. Thank you for making all things new and for giving me the grace of fresh starts & beautiful new beginnings.

Remind me of your presence in the days to come. Especially when I’m distressed, pained, confused or anxious.

I pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit and call upon Jesus, Your Son, our Lord, for His intercession, His guidance and light to shine our path, this new year and always.

Amen.

New Year’s Prayer

Lord, my Father God, the past year may have been very tough for me and my family. But we thank you for a brand New Year.

We ask You Lord, to bless us our family and friends as we begin this new year with optimism and renewed hope in You.

In the past year, You have seen Lord our failures, saddened by our weaknesses, hurt by our sins and celebrated in successes.

And as the New Year unfolds, let us remember the past year and ask for forgiveness for all our sins and for our actions that may have caused you pain and disappointments.

Forgive us Father, for the many times we have forgotten to pray or to thank you. Help us to realize our mistakes and heed lessons from them.

Lord, help us to focus our eyes on you especially in times of trials. Strengthen us, please give us courage, heal us Lord from all the afflictions that’s making it difficult for us to keep our faith.

We pray that You bless this New Year with Your mercy and presence in all that we do, in Jesus’ name.

Amen
