My angel’s school play

I have the most challenging day today. The whole world seemed to be going against me. It is much more difficult to manage people and to find loyalty these days is almost unattainable.
But each time I see my daughter, my world lights up. She is a beautiful reminder of how life can be a blessing, there’s hope in her eyes, love in her smile… and what’s sweetest is when she tells me I’m the best mom ever! This is the most fulfilling part of being a mom-treprenuer.

A powerful Prayer to the Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit,

third person of the blessed Trinity.

Spirit of truth love and holiness,

proceeding from the Father

and the Son,

and equal to them in all things.

I adore You and love You with all my heart.

Teach me to know and to seek God,

by whom and for whom I was created.

Fill my heart with holy fear and love of God.

Grant me compunction and patience

and allow me not to fall into sin.

Give me an increase of faith, hope &

charity and bring forth in my soul

all the virtues proper to my state of life.

Give me Your four cardinal virtues,

Your seven gifts, and Your twelve fruits.

Make me a faithful follower of Jesus

and an obedient child of the church.

Give me the grace to keep the commandments

and to receive the sacraments worthily.

Raise me to perfection in the state of

life which You have called me.

And lead me to a happy death,

through Jesus Christ, O Lord.

Prayer of thanksgiving

This recent hospitalization of my in-laws made me realized the frailty of life. The dawning of one’s life is such a poignant reminder how we should live in this world, grasping every breathe, savouring every moment, enduring the highs and even the lows of our existence. One day you’re up and okay, next day you’re not. And God, through it all, yet we fail to continue looking up, He is always there.

Now, I speak of His wonderful love, His infallible mercy and grace, He listens and has heard the woes and cries of His Children. I’m so thankful, walking in faith not by sight, thoughtful that God’s grace is the only help I need.

Oh God Almighty Father,

I seek You as I feel completely overwhelmed.

I do not have the time nor the energy

to sustain myself or my life.

There’s just too much…

Please help me Lord.

Show me your hand, in control of all things.

Let me find rest in You.

Help me to trust You for anything, for everything.

For You alone are sovereign.

You own time itself, my only refuge, my hope.

So, I stop at this moment,

and seek You.

I can feel the breeze of Your merciful love,

Helping me carry my cross & survive each day.

I rise up strong again,

in Christ,

and face the world,

my path straight and firm.

Let’s face it, not all can afford high end make up! But, being money savvy doesn’t mean you’d be ugly. Praise heavens for beauty brands that now cater to budget conscious ladies. Aside from their pocket friendly prices, some products come in cute and earth friendly packaging which I personally prefer 🙂

Here are the beauty-in-a-budget brands you should check out;

Onsaemeein – a brand from South Korea that makes great moisturizers with price as low as P399. Their bestsellers ~ Perfect Moisture Cream, Milky Whitening Soft Cream & Lumiere Gold Cream.

Boomdeah Dah – another Korean brand that is also very inexpensive. The Everyday mask retails at P30 each and they have great skincare line, too!

Sinulog 2018 Highlights

Sinulog – Pit Senyor!

Sinulog is by far the grandest festival I’ve ever experienced in the Philippines. It is an annual cultural and religious festival held every 3rd week (Sunday) of January.

Aside from its religious significance, Sinulog is also famous for street parties and the grand street parade that practically lasts the whole day.

“Sinulog” coined from the Cebuano word – Sulog which means “like water current” that describes its forward-backward steps. According to historical accounts, the first Sinulog dance was danced by Hara Humamay (Rajah Humabon’s wife). It was when they received the Sacred Image of Child Jesus (Sto. Nino) – a gift from the explorer Ferdinand Magellan – that the queen danced in joy with the other natives following her.

I will post some photos I’ll be taking this Sunday – the day of Sinulog itself.

New Year’s Prayer

Lord, my Father God, the past year may have been very tough for me and my family. But we thank you for a brand New Year.

We ask You Lord, to bless us our family and friends as we begin this new year with optimism and renewed hope in You.

In the past year, You have seen Lord our failures, saddened by our weaknesses, hurt by our sins and celebrated in successes.

And as the New Year unfolds, let us remember the past year and ask for forgiveness for all our sins and for our actions that may have caused you pain and disappointments.

Forgive us Father, for the many times we have forgotten to pray or to thank you. Help us to realize our mistakes and heed lessons from them.

Lord, help us to focus our eyes on you especially in times of trials. Strengthen us, please give us courage, heal us Lord from all the afflictions that’s making it difficult for us to keep our faith.

We pray that You bless this New Year with Your mercy and presence in all that we do, in Jesus’ name.
