Prayer of thanksgiving

This recent hospitalization of my in-laws made me realized the frailty of life. The dawning of one’s life is such a poignant reminder how we should live in this world, grasping every breathe, savouring every moment, enduring the highs and even the lows of our existence. One day you’re up and okay, next day you’re not. And God, through it all, yet we fail to continue looking up, He is always there.

Now, I speak of His wonderful love, His infallible mercy and grace, He listens and has heard the woes and cries of His Children. I’m so thankful, walking in faith not by sight, thoughtful that God’s grace is the only help I need.

Oh God Almighty Father,

I seek You as I feel completely overwhelmed.

I do not have the time nor the energy

to sustain myself or my life.

There’s just too much…

Please help me Lord.

Show me your hand, in control of all things.

Let me find rest in You.

Help me to trust You for anything, for everything.

For You alone are sovereign.

You own time itself, my only refuge, my hope.

So, I stop at this moment,

and seek You.

I can feel the breeze of Your merciful love,

Helping me carry my cross & survive each day.

I rise up strong again,

in Christ,

and face the world,

my path straight and firm.

With faith in Your Son,

whose great name I pray,

New Year’s Prayer

Lord, my Father God, the past year may have been very tough for me and my family. But we thank you for a brand New Year.

We ask You Lord, to bless us our family and friends as we begin this new year with optimism and renewed hope in You.

In the past year, You have seen Lord our failures, saddened by our weaknesses, hurt by our sins and celebrated in successes.

And as the New Year unfolds, let us remember the past year and ask for forgiveness for all our sins and for our actions that may have caused you pain and disappointments.

Forgive us Father, for the many times we have forgotten to pray or to thank you. Help us to realize our mistakes and heed lessons from them.

Lord, help us to focus our eyes on you especially in times of trials. Strengthen us, please give us courage, heal us Lord from all the afflictions that’s making it difficult for us to keep our faith.

We pray that You bless this New Year with Your mercy and presence in all that we do, in Jesus’ name.

Dear Father, when the pressure mounts and the troubles of this world begin to close in, give me the grace to return to You.

All I need is your loving mercy.

Never leave me Lord…

Even I don’t feel You there, at least let me understand that you are there.

Give me strength and fight a good fight.

Let your grace allow me to believe in the only one that gives me Truth and Clarity despite the pain and struggle.

And if it be your will, fill my heart and soul with the overwhelming Joy that only your Spirit gives.

For your are my hope, my strength and my refuge.

Today is one of the most exhausting days of my life. All I do, I offer them to God. He gives me strength to fulfill my duties, my obligations.

I’m sharing this beautiful prayer before sleep.

Dear God, as I lay me down to sleep, relax the tension of my body.

Calm the restlessness of my mind; still the thoughts which worry and perplex me.

Help me to rest myself and all my problems in your strong & loving arms.

Let your Spirit speak to my mind and heart while I’m asleep, so that when I wake in the morning, I may find that I have received in the nighttime, light for my way, strength for my tasks, peace for my worries, forgiveness for my sins.

Grant me sleep tonight and tomorrow power to live.

Ave Maria de Lourdes France

On our fifth visit to Lourdes France, we were able to participate in the nightly rosary vigil. It starts at 9 pm and lasts for about an hour. Peace and hope enveloped me as we sang to the hymns and recitation of the rosary. Chanted with various languages I may not know but familiar and heartfelt. The procession is more than a ceremony that for devotees like me – is a time of prayer and grace.

I’d like to share the hymn – “Ave Maria de Lourdes” in French. As seen on a short clip I recorded below.
